短语动词是英语成语的一个重要类别,表达一个不可分割的完整动词概念。其语义往往不是其组成部分的语义相加,因此短语动词成了外语教学中较为困难的领域之一。本文通过从认知语言学的角度进行分析发现短语动词的意义存在系统性的概念理据,许多短语动词的意义是建立在概念隐喻的基础上的,对短语动词的语义理解必须考虑小品词对其整体意义的特殊贡献。提高学习者隐喻意识对其短语动词的语义理解具有重要作用。
Phrasal verbs are an important category of English idioms, expressing an indivisible whole verb concept. Its semantics are often not the semantic addition of its components, so the phrase verbs become one of the more difficult fields in foreign language teaching. In this paper, we find that there are some systematic rationales for the meaning of phrasal verbs through the analysis from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. The meaning of many phrasal verbs is based on conceptual metaphors. For the semantic understanding of phrasal verbs, The special contribution of the overall meaning. Improving learners’ metaphorical awareness plays an important role in the semantic understanding of their phrasal verbs.
