In 1993-1995, China and Britain conducted a cooperative study on the erosion and maintenance of red soils in the slope areas of Yunnan. The experiments were conducted on the basis of slope, planting orientation and different tillage measures; the test crops; corn (Zeamay L.); three-year trial results showed that wheat straw covering all three slopes can effectively reduce runoff and thus reduce Soil loss; the largest runoff produced by plastic film mulching, resulting in the most serious soil loss; both the runoff and soil loss (three years average) in the corn production season were 832.95m3 / ha, 1.27t / ha and 1084.05m3 / ha, 5.92t / ha, the difference reached the extremely significant level. Traditionally, the runoff and soil loss were 966.6m3 / ha and 5.74t / ha, respectively. Compared with the wheat straw cover, the difference of soil loss was extremely significant. The order of runoff and soil loss caused by different tillage measures is the same, covering mulching> conventional tillage> no-tillage> intercropping> straw cover. The amount of soil loss along the contours was 3.55 t / ha and that on the slope was 5.06 t / ha. There was no significant difference in runoff. With the increase of slope, the soil erosion gradually aggravated; the runoff at 3 ° was significantly less than 13 ° and 31 °; and the slope was positively correlated with runoff and soil loss. In contrast with the above results, among the five cultivation measures, the yield of mulch covered maize reached 4.61 t / ha and the lowest was 3.85 t / ha, the difference was significant 4.19t / ha), but significantly higher than the traditional farming?
