如何认识宗教在现代西方社会中的性质和功能，它们是否像西方哲学一样在近现代之交发生了具有进步意义的深刻变更？这是本文提出并试图作出一种肯定回答的问题。作者首先从理论上分析了宗教与哲学的区别和联系、二者长期存在的原因以及它们在近现代之交必然发生的变更；接着分析了基督教及其哲学与西方哲学在历史上的相互渗透和交融关系及后者在近现代之交的表现，由此说明二者变更的一致性；最后具体论述了现代西方宗教哲学对传统宗教观念和宗教哲学的超越 How to understand the nature and function of religions in modern Western society. Do they have profound changes of progress and significance at the turn of modern times, like Western philosophy? This is the question that this article proposes and tries to give a positive answer. The author firstly analyzes theoretically the difference and connection between religion and philosophy, the reasons for their long-term existence and their inevitable changes at the present and modern times. Then it analyzes the historical infiltration between Christianity and its philosophy and western philosophy and Intercourse relationship and the latter’s performance at the turn of the modern era, thus illustrating the consistency of the changes between the two. At last, it elaborates on the transcendence of modern western religious philosophy to traditional religious concepts and religious philosophy
