研究揭示区域性土壤侵蚀、水土保持与全球气候变化之间的关系,是土壤侵蚀与水土保持学科的重要前沿领域之一,具有重要意义。植被恢复是水土流失区主要的治理手段之一。在总结了植被恢复对土壤碳储量、土壤侵蚀对土壤碳素损失的影响,以及影响水土流失区土壤碳汇吸存的关键因素及其对植被恢复的响应的基础上,指出迫切需要加强对存在土壤侵蚀情况下的植被恢复过程中土壤碳素动态及土壤碳库的吸存机理等相关科学问题的研究。相关研究对科学评价水土保持在应对全球气候变化中的作用、增强土壤碳汇功能与形成机理的认识具有重要的科学意义,同时对加强土壤有机质管理、促进土壤肥力改善和退化生态系统的恢复与可持续发展也具有一定的现实意义。
