On August 8, 1997, Boise MotorCo, a subsidiary of American Power Industries, completed the inauguration ceremony of two four-axle diesels for short-haul transportation. The models of the two microcomputer-controlled locomotives were MP1500D and MP2000. Both locomotives are equipped with a central cab providing 360 views and a high fuel efficiency diesel engine that meets low emissions requirements.
