For the study of academic history, people only accustomed to qualitative investigation, without paying attention to the statistical methods to quantitative analysis. How many researches did the word studies produce in the 20th century a century? What changes did the results produce in different ages? What was the reason for these changes? What were the reasons? These questions have so far not been answered. After a comprehensive inventory, the total number of achievements in the study of Ci-poetry in the 20th century reached as high as 22,909, according to an exponential growth. It experienced four stages of change: the initial stage of the start (1901-1932), the total output of 476, an average of 14.9 items; step by step development stage (1933-1955), a total of 1496 items, an average of 65 (1956-1978), a total of 3322, an average of 144.4 items; step off stage (1979-2000), the total reached 17615, an average of 800.7 items. The first rapid growth of the study of Ciology from 1933 to 1936 was attributed to the initiation of The Ci Journal Quarterly by the leader of the Ci-poetry history, Long Yusheng and his chief editor. “Cultural Revolution ” ten years Ci-volume research results can still maintain a steady development trend, it is due to “overseas Corps ” rise. After 1979, the rapid development of Ci-poetry research is closely related to the socio-political and cultural environment of ideological liberation and economic development. However, it has a more direct relationship with the changes in education system and the development of publishing and broadcasting.
