兰茂《韵略易通》一书中所反映的云南汉语方音情况,只代表明·洪武到正统(公元1368~1442年)这一段历史时期.当时声母zh、ch、sh、j、q、x都没有出现.韵母中还有“端桓”和三个收[-m]尾韵.入声依然保存.这一切以后如何发展演化?云南汉语方音中,前、后鼻音相混,鼻化元音特别发达、其产生根源何在?明、万历丙戌(公元1586年)昆明嵩明邵甸僧人本悟对兰书进行修订.通过他在近、现代汉语语音发展史中的最大贡献——“重韵”,对上述问题作出初步答案.
