This article describes a concept of using a laser as a cutting tool. The technology is being studied by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has drawn the attention of major automotive manufacturers. There are many ways to use laser processing. The newest method is to split the output of a light source into two laser beams 90 ° from each other, which cooperate to cut the part on the workpiece.
