According to the website of Supervision Department of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection， Li Weiping， Vice Mayor of Zhenjiang City and a member of the municipal CPC Committee， is placed under internal investigation for suspected serious discipline and law violation.
Li is the second “County-level Star Official”of Jiangsu Province who is investigated directly by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in the recent period. Not too long ago， Jiang Guoxing， a former standing member of Changzhou Municipal Committee， CPC Secretary of Suining Count and Deputy Director of Jiangsu Press and Publication Bureau also got sanctioned from his posts in both the government and the CPC organization.
The suspected discipline and law violation of Li Weiping presumably happened before May 2012 when he was serving as a standing memberof the Huai’an Municipal CPC Committee and the CPC Secretary of Lianshui County.
According to informed sources， Li Weiping was a very “domineering officer”， and his immediate families gained a number of construction contracts in Lianshui and made a huge fortune out of it when he was in power.
However， the Commission for Discipline refuses to disclose more details before the court judges.
