Since China and Malaysia established diplomatic relations 45 years ago, the two countries have not only made tremendous achievements in their respective economic development, but also steady progress in cooperation in various fields such as trade, investment, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The data below illustrates the joint efforts made by the two countries to constantly deepen bilateral ties.
At the 2019 Lunar New Year’s Celebration held by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian declared in his speech that China has been Malaysia’s largest trading partner for 10 consecutive years and will remain the largest investor in the country’s manufacturing industry. He also noted that Malaysia is the top destination in the ASEAN region for Chinese tourists.
As China-Malaysia relations have now reached a new era, Bai expressed hope that the two sides would overcome potential difficulties and maintain a good momentum of development.
