以往遇到解方程36÷5x=2,数学老师们毫无疑问地把5x看做一个整体。但是笔者在金陵晚报上看到了相关的讨论,认为5x是5×x的简写,按照四则运算的顺序应该是先除后乘,引起笔者的思考,为什么要把5x看作一个整体。经过多方求助,明确了把“5x”看作一个整体的原因。和“从左到右”和“先乘除、后加减”一样,都是一种人为的关于数学符号语言的规定,目的在于尽可能减少算式中为说明各个运算的顺序所用的括号。通过对这一问题的探索,使笔者明白数学教学应留心有关数学史料,从而帮助学生尽可能的理解某一规定背后的原因,让学生更好地认识和理解这样的规定,体会规定的合理性与必然性。
