If in the near future millions of people will be transported along this waterfront along the river? If we know that wetlands are rare in nature, how to design, create and maintain this wetland environment? How to maintain habitat vitality and sustainability for long periods? At London 2012 Olympic Park, engineers from Atkins are entrusted with the design and construction of wetlands and riverfront areas and will find answers to all these questions. The new Olympic Park for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games is an abandoned industrial site converted into an area of more than 246 hm2, making it one of the largest urban landscape projects in Europe. The new landscape of rivers and wetlands in the Lower East Reagan Valley of East London will be the visual hub for the new park and add a backdrop for the 2012 London Olympics. Atkins is responsible for softening design of riparian and wetlands,
