作为一种来源自西方的新兴文体,侦探小说于1896年首次进入中国,并在随后的几十年中大量译介、刊载、发行,广受读者欢迎。本文以新式出版业在晚清至民国的演变发展为时代线索,集中讨论该时期中国本土民营出版机构所参与推动的西方侦探小说刊载出版。基于时人回忆和档案分析,着力再现当时西方侦探小说的翻译出版历史分期及其特点。
As a new emerging style from the West, detective novels first entered China in 1896 and was widely read, published, distributed and widely welcomed by readers during the ensuing decades. This article takes the evolution of the new publishing industry in the period from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China as the clue of the times and concentrates on the publication and publication of the western detective novels involved in the promotion by the private publishing houses in China during this period. Based on the recollection of man and file analysis, efforts were made to reproduce the stage and characteristics of the translation and publication of Western detective novels.
