“永续性多年生混播草地”是针对黄土高原半干旱丘陵区的特点,经过长期观察和论证后,提出的一项新的优化生态探索模式.它选择了3~5种多年生豆科、禾本科草种混播,并加入半灌木、灌木(树)草种,使组合内部的互补性有所增强。在治理全过程中(前、中、后期)合理运用上繁草、下繁草和中间型草种,林草有机地相互配置。使利用年限从3~5年延续到7~10年以上。这个模式既兼顾了种草养畜、能源薪炭、水土保持和恢复生态的多种效益,也注意了草种组合对混播草地植被成分演变的影响,用循续渐进增补更新草种的办法改变荒山荒地面貌。
