For vocalists, the fundamental purpose of their performance is not to show off their skills or to show their self-righteousness, but to convey the truth, goodness and beauty contained in the work to the general audience. Without good works and performances, the audience will lose their meaning. As the American composer Ellen Copland said: “Since the joint reaction of the audience can profoundly influence and deduce the art, it is probably reasonable to say that the future of music is in the hands of the audience.” Vocal performance process, the audience as the subject of aesthetic subjects, not only the vocal performance of the recipient, but also participants and creators. And it is with the audience’s participation, creation and acceptance, vocal music works can achieve its true artistic value. In this sense, the truly competent vocal singer must not blindly show their skills and self-righteous people in his (her) heart must always be filled with listeners.
