Over 80 countries around the world are still affected by landmines and other explosives left over from the war. Between 15,000 and 20,000 people are maimed or killed each year by lightning. One out of every 400 people in Angola is disabled by landmines. One out of every 250 people in Cambodia is a disability caused by landmines. After the Sino-Vietnamese war in 1984, nearly 3 million mines were left on the frontier. The Chinese government once organized three large-scale demining operations, excluding about half. However, the steep mountains and dangerous border, vertical and horizontal rivers, mine clearance work difficult. To this day, there are still over 1 million remaining mines, all over the borderline centered on the main peak of the Lao Mountain, bringing great power to the lives of local people
