本文通过对西北民族地区经济发展与村民自治的实地调查数据进行回归分析,得出结论:村民收入越高,政治参与的物质支撑越牢固,村民拥有富余的时间、精力和经费从事民主选举,民主选举越容易得到规范;村民文化素质越低,民主监督制度越难以有效实施;村主任和村支书年龄越大,选举和管理越不民主。
