Mongolia’s translation of Chinese literature can be traced back to the thirties of this century. The earliest translated Chinese modern literary masterpiece in Mongolia was Mr. Lu Xun’s short story Kong Yiji, which was published in March 1939, which was translated directly from Chinese by the Mongolian translator Bata. In 1956, the Mongolian National Publishing House once published a selection of novels by Lu Xun, including the short stories of “Hometown” and “Kong Yi-ji”. Since 1952, more than two dozen short stories by Lu Xun, the great Chinese writer, such as The True Story of Ah Q, The Madman’s Diary, At the Restaurant, Wandering, Screaming and Tomorrow Translated into Mongolian texts, welcomed by the majority of Mongolian readers.
