如果说改革开放20年来人民生活水平是“芝麻开花节节高”的话,那么用蓬勃发展、日新月异来形容合肥航空港通信、导航事业20年来的发展则是再恰当不过的了。1978年刚建成的合肥骆岗机场,每周只有20多个航班,机型小,机载设备简陋。6部仿苏制电子管甚高频收、发信机,外加5个机场导航台,一部车载电子管雷达,一条通往上海电传线路,一部400门纵横制交换机就构成了当时的地面通信导航网,遇到复杂天气,调度员还得到跑道头指挥飞机降落,有时干脆让飞机航或取消航班。
