Through field investiagation,sample collection and testing analysis of genuine Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. in Longmen mountain section,the research indicates that the geochemical backgroud of Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. producing area is similar to the Chinese national value,but different from the Clarke value. The content of Zn,B and Pb in this area is above while that of Mo,Mg,K and Ca is below the national background value and the Clarke value. The content of soil elements changes vertically as follows: the content of N,Org·C,P,CaO,As, Hg,Cd and Pb decreases while that of Mn increases from the soil surface layer to the parent material layer; the content of B,Mo,K2O,MgO, Zn and Al2O3 increases from Layer A to Layer B to Layer C,but decreases in Layer D. The evaluation of soil quality indicates that Cd and Zn have obvious influence on soil quality of Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. Therefore,the two elements should get more management.
