作为“荒诞派戏剧”理论的阐释者和命名者,马丁·艾思林在《荒诞派戏剧》中指出,荒诞派戏剧的“背叛”在于对语言和逻辑的废黜,其“回归”是诗意形象的返魅。荒诞派戏剧家试图废黜逻辑语言,借助诗意形象来表达自己对这个分崩离析的世界的感觉,使观众了解人在宇宙中危险和神秘的地位,从而能够带着尊严面对真实的人的生存状况。
As the interpreter and naming of “Absurd Drama”, Martin Aslin points out in “The Absurd Drama” that the “betrayal” of the drama of the absurd lies in the deconstruction of language and logic and that “ Return to ”is the poetic image of the charm. Absurdist writers tried to dethrone logical language and use poetic images to express their feeling about this disintegrating world so that the audience could understand the danger and mystery of human beings in the universe so as to be able to confront the real human being with dignity.
