作者采用改进的化学汽相沉积(MCVD)法,研究了SF_6、CF_4作掺氟材料的可行性。据发现,掺氟石英玻璃的折射率变化很大程度上取决于掺氟材料和沉积温度。以SF_6为掺氟材料时已得到0.05的最大折射率变化。在具有掺氟及P_2O_5石英玻璃包层的单模光纤中,尚未发现SF_6的应用在长波长区导致附加吸收损耗。
The authors used improved CVD (MCVD) method to study the feasibility of SF_6 and CF_4 as fluorine-doped materials. It has been found that the refractive index change of the fluorine-doped quartz glass largely depends on the fluorine-doped material and the deposition temperature. With SF_6 as the fluorine-doped material, the maximum refractive index change of 0.05 has been obtained. In single-mode fibers with fluorine-doped and P 2 O 5 quartz glass cladding, application of SF 6 has not been found to lead to additional absorption losses in the long wavelength region.
