The microalloying of Au and Au alloys is discussed and summarized. In Au alloys, the main role of the microalloying elements is to strengthen, adjust the resistivity, refine the grain size and increase the recrystallization temperature and so on. In almost all applications, alloying elements such as alkali and alkaline earth metals, rare earth metals, refractory metals, metalloid and some simple metals having a large difference in melting point or atomic size with respect to Au are selected as the microalloying elements . Some applications of microalloyed Au alloys are introduced. The effect of many microalloyed elements on the properties of Au and Au alloys is often multiplicative and synergistic. Summarizes some of the selection criteria for the microalloying elements of Au and Au alloys for different applications.
