The Hani ethnic group is one of the more populous ethnic minorities in our country, with a total population of over 105,000. Distributed in Jinghong, Menghai, Mengla, Xishuangbanna Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province and Lancang, Menglai County and other places of Hani, probably known as Ai Ni, Acra used before the liberation of the title. The distribution of the Aini, an important Hani ethnic group, has been extended to Myanmar, Laos and Thailand. In Western ethnographic writings, the foreign Ainis are often referred to as Akha. Akabane is a devalued Dai language, but its insulting, contemptuous meaning is not known to most mountain natives, it has long been a common practice, and even many parts of the Ain people claim to be Akka.
