Fiber optic information sensing is a natural product of aeronautics and astronautics research for its applications in aerospace and aerospace structures that monitor composite materials. Optical fiber sensors are used because of their insensitivity to electromagnetic interference and light, while in the fiber reinforced plastic with long-term stability. ISIS Canada (Canada’s New Structural Intelligence Information Sensing), chaired by the University of Toronto’s Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, has embarked on a new sensor standard that collects local information and independent specifications.
