Objective: To investigate the role of auditory brainstem response (ABR) and auditory steady-state response (ASSR) in early hearing assessment of infants who failed to pass the test. Methods: 233 cases (466 ears) failed to pass the hearing screening of infants and young children using ABR, ASSR test for the first time audiology and referral. Analysis of clinical application of ABR and ASSR. Results: In 233 infants and young children, hearing was normal in 64 cases at 1 ~ 3 months and 169 cases with hearing loss in one or both ears, of which 88 were mild, 60 were moderate, 12 were severe and 9 were extremely severe. At 6 months, 106 patients were referred for review, 60 were normal hearing, 46 were hearing loss, 12 were mild, 15 were moderate, 10 were severe and 9 were extremely severe. Lost to visit 63 cases. Conclusion: The combination of ABR and ASSR can detect hearing loss early, and provide a reliable basis for early intervention of hearing impairment.
