Apoptosis is an active “suicide” process of single cells in living tissues and is regulated by multiple genes. Among them, the wild-type p53 gene is an important apoptosis-promoting gene, while the mutant p53 gene and bcl-2 gene are Important inhibitor of apoptosis. We examined the accumulation of P53 protein and the expression of bcl-2 mRNA in 34 human astrocytoma tissues to investigate the effect of apoptosis inhibition on humans.
