Towards the end of last year, the media circles whipped out a whirlwind. In a word, Metropolitan Daily encountered a cold winter and the paper media was facing the challenge of online media. Wu Haimin, head of the Beijing Times, predicted that this was the “turning point” for the press; Tang Xujun, deputy director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, even cited it as the tenth “key word” for China’s newspaper industry in 2005. So what should the mainstream media think about this phenomenon, what kind of countermeasures should be taken? The magazine has the honor to go to Liang Heng, deputy chief editor of the People’s Daily, Guangchang Daily editorial board member Xue Changdong, Economic Daily editorial board Zhengdong Dong, Workers Daily Editor-in-chief Sun Dehong specifically for the publication of manuscripts, the current focus of publication, readers.
