Last year we wanted to interview Ge Fei, but because he went abroad, he had to give up. One day in May of this year, when I once again dialed the phone of the teacher Gefei, he humbly said that he was “just an amateur writer.” Indeed, he is a full-time university teacher who graduated from East China Normal University and stayed in school to teach. In 2000, he was transferred to the Chinese Department of Tsinghua University to continue teaching. However, his “amateur writer” was not simple at all. In the 1980s, he entered the contemporary literary world and became one of the representatives of the “pioneer” school. From 1994 to 2004, after ten years of silence, he recently won the attention of the world with his new work “Peach Blossoms” and won several consecutive awards. Ge Fei’s teacher is very busy. In addition to teaching two classes in the Chinese Language Department, he also needs to read the student’s dissertation, and also brewing the creation of the next novel... but when I mentioned “Language World,” I was deeply influenced by primary and secondary schools. When teachers and students friends favorite magazines, he readily agreed to my interview request.
