伊恩·麦克尤恩是当代英国最重要的作家。小说《星期六》中麦克尤恩通过对伦敦都市的景观描写及居住于其中的伦敦市民精神状态的描写,揭示了当代处于城市语境中的不同阶层所面临的一系列问题,并以此对当代伦敦城市的生存状貌及社会危机进行了反思,体现出其对人类命运的深切关怀。本文拟挖掘麦克尤恩在《星期六》中进行后现代伦敦都市书写的独特之处,并深刻揭示当今全球化背景下作家进行这一书写的“救赎”意义。
Ian McEwan is the most important writer in contemporary England.
