One of the currently developed contraceptive vaccines against human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a non-covalent conjugate based on the hCG-beta subunit or the alpha subunit of beta-hCG and the ovine luteinizing hormone (oLH). These two vaccine formulations appear to be more suitable immunogens as compared to the use of the carboxy terminal peptide of the hCG-β subunit. Antibodies induced by both vaccines cross reacted with human luteinizing hormone (hLH) but did not affect ovulation. Some experiments reported that primates immunized with β-oLH
