该河段是汶川地震触发灾害最为严重的河段之一。基于详细的实地调查和遥感解译成果,分析崩塌灾害的空间分布,崩塌发育斜坡物质组成、高程、坡高、坡度、坡形和失稳部位及崩塌形成机理,揭示震后崩塌灾害的发育规律。崩塌的发生存在明显的背坡面效应和方向效应,岩质边坡崩塌最为发育,且多发育于花岗岩、闪长岩和辉长岩等硬岩斜坡中,崩塌破坏模式以滑移式和倾倒式为主。
