Epidemiological investigation showed that Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection was significantly associated with gastric cancer. The incidence of gastric cancer after Hp infection increased by 4 to 9 times, and 60% of gastric cancer patients had Hp infection. In 1994, the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer officially listed Hp as the first type of bio-carcinogenic factor.
