一、中吉乌国际铁路建设的意义中吉乌国际铁路,起自中国的新疆喀什,途经吉尔吉斯斯坦的卡拉苏与即有铁路接轨,终点为原苏联土西铁路乌兹别克斯坦的安集延站(见图1)。线路全长466公里,其中:中国境内需新建自喀什至中吉边境的线路长度约168公里,吉尔吉斯斯坦境内需新建线路长度为248公里,其余部分(卡拉苏一安集延)为即有铁路,长50公里。该项目横贯中亚地区,是亚欧大陆的“心脏地带”。中吉乌国际铁路的修建不仅将改变中国新疆乃至整个西部的交通格局,加快西部大开发的步伐,而且还将完善新亚欧大陆桥南部通路,形成东亚、东南亚通往中亚、西亚和北非、南欧的便捷运输通道。同时,还将有利于“丝绸之路经济带”共同发展。
I. Significance of Sino-Kyu International Railway Construction The Kyu International Railway (KIU) originates from Kashgar in China, and Karasu via Kyrgyzstan is connected with the existing railways. The destination is the Andijan station of Uzbekistan, former Soviet Union’s Turkish Railroad (see Figure 1) . The total length of the line is 466 km, of which: the length of the line to be newly built from Kashgar to China-Kyrgyzstan in China is about 168 km; the length of the new line to be built in Kyrgyzstan is 248 km; the rest (Kalasu An-an-Jiyan) Km. The project runs through Central Asia and is the “heartland” of the Eurasian continent. The construction of the Sino-Kyu International Railway will not only change the traffic pattern in Xinjiang and even the entire western part of China, speed up the pace of developing the western region, but will also improve the southern access to the new Eurasian Continental Bridge and form a gateway to Central Asia, West Asia and North Africa, Southern Europe’s convenient transport routes. At the same time, it will also be conducive to the common development of the “Silk Road Economic Belt.”
