The authors studied seven patients with cerebrum infarction caused by vertebrobasilar (VB) large fusiform aneurysm confirmed by CT, cerebrovascular angiography, or autopsy between 1978 and 1986 and reviewed their medical records in detail To clarify the clinical, radiological and pathological features of such stroke patients. Results: In all 7 cases of CT examination, the blood vessels of the bridge-cerebellum were obviously dilated, curved, and sometimes concave into the pons. This was clearly demonstrated after injection of contrast agent. In 2 cases, the vessels of the carotid artery were also found to expand similarly. Cerebral angiography: only 6 cases were done, showing basilar artery dilatation, flexion and extension, 1 case of proximal basilar artery stenosis, 2 cases of endovascular filling consistent with basilar artery thrombosis
