Shiyan City is located in the northwestern border of Hubei Province. Due to the influence of Wudang Mountain, a Taoist resort, many temples were built in the Ming and Qing dynasties. These temples basically collapsed. Most of the stone carvings existed in the wilderness and were seriously damaged by nature and man-made damage.
