The space in Chinese children’s novels from 1950 to 1970 mainly refers to the living space of children and adolescents in texts, which can be divided into two forms, public space and private space. Public living space, including schools, farming communities, military units or military barracks, is the dominant form of space that is revolutionary and collectivistic. Private living space mainly includes family, playing field and body, body is a special form of space. Private space is considered to be an irrational, disorderly and meaningless space form in the public space. Public space forms not only have great appeal to children, but also writers influence children and adolescents through such narrative modes as “de-familization”, “non-gaming” and “physical suffering” Quickly separated from the private space to better integrate into the public space. As a result, the dominant public political space gradually infiltrated, pushed aside, expelled and even replaced the private living space of children and adolescents.
