Objective To explore the effect of scenario simulation + role-based health education on self-management status of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients. Methods Seventy-two patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in our department from July to December in 2016 were divided into observation group and control group with 71 cases in each group. The control group was given routine health education, while the observation group was given scenario simulation + role-substitution health education. Before and after the self-management assessment scale based on diabetes patients two groups of self-management ability to assess and compare; observed two groups of patients before and after intervention in the control of blood glucose, parallel statistical analysis and comparison. Results The scores of dietary control, regular exercise, medication compliance, blood glucose monitoring and hypoglycemia in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group, and the metabolic parameters of blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin were lower than those in control group (P <0.05) . Conclusions The self-management ability of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients can be improved through using situational simulation + role-based health education. The patients’ bad life style has been improved, the quality of life has been improved, and the effect is obvious. It is worthy of clinical promotion.
