不管他过去受过怎样的磨难,如今,他所得到的报偿却足以令多少画家羡慕不已: 1993年9月,他的作品《良宵》在香港拍卖,以836万港元创下了华人油画作品最高价; 一年后,香港国际艺术博览会上,他的《女娲之歌》又以888.8万港元的价格售出,使这一纪录再上层楼。 如果说,艺术家的价值不能简单地以作品的售价来衡量,而应当看他能否留下或留下多少被永久保留的传世之作,那么,刘宇一所享有的“殊荣”也足以使他感到欣慰: 他的一幅重新复制的《良宵》,陈列于毛主席纪念堂;另一幅《人民万岁》则悬挂于天安门城楼。而他今年只有54岁。作为画家,艺术生命还很长,前程远大。 刘宇一凭着什么获得这样的成功? 让我们先看看他的两幅“代表作”:
