On October 25, the Planning Commission of Yunnan Province held a demonstration meeting at the Kunming Survey, Design and Research Institute of the State Power Corporation on “Catch up with opportunities for sending electric power from the west to the east and cultivate the pillar industry of electric power”. Through serious discussion, the participants agreed that seizing the opportunity of the West-East Power Transmission and giving full play to its resources and geographical advantages, Yunnan can be built into the country’s largest hydropower energy base, and the power industry based on hydropower can be fully cultivated to become the emerging Yunnan Province.
