微红绒茧蜂为我国北部地区菜白蝶幼虫的主要寄生蜂,在北京寄生率可高达73.7%。该蜂于10月下旬进入滞育,以预蛹在茧内越冬,翌年4月中旬开始羽化,正值田间第一代菜白蝶幼虫开始发生。在27—19.7℃下,该蜂在13.5—28.8天内完成一个世代。雌蜂主要选择1龄菜青虫寄生,平均产卵80.4粒,成茧率43.5%,雌雄性比为1.3:1。补充营养对雌成虫寿命和繁殖力有很大影响。夏季微红绒茧蜂在27℃定温室中蛹期为6天,冷藏于11℃25天,羽化率仍为93.5%。初越冬茧在定温室中蛹期平均为19.5天,经在不生火屋内存放后移入27℃中的越冬茧,能较快地羽化,移入至羽化所需的时间随存放时间的增长而缩短,存放15天的需18.4天,存放170天的需7.7天。
