Before the introduction of Buddhism into China, the way of Chinese literary criticism has formed a sense of heavy intuition, not theoretical analysis, like to speak general feelings, ethereal metaphor, different from the characteristics of Western traditional criticism. This way of thinking makes the Zenization of China’s only Zen Buddhism popular. As far as Japan is concerned, Zen’s thinking also coincides with the traditional way of thinking that emphasizes intuition and imagination, rather than the Western critique of a rigorous logic system. The imitation of Chinese literature in the early stages of the development of ancient Japanese literature can be said to have goneverned. Its literary criticism, apart from its own characteristics, differs from its own characteristics in Chinese literary criticism and fails to break away from the criticism and impression of China.
