Kolbenschmidt has developed a nano-enhanced sedan diesel engine piston alloy material that is based on the alloying material of commercial diesel engine pistons and improves the alloy material by precipitating nanoscale impurities incorporated into the metal. This material has been proven to have particularly fine metallurgical structure and a substantial increase in strength. Researchers have applied the experience of this new material to the sedan field. Tests have shown that pistons of new alloys have a life expectancy of 50% higher than pistons made by Kolbenschmidt using conventional alloy materials.
