婉曲话语所陈述的有关事态有些不是现实的,有些是不真实的或不完全真实的,有些是不直接地明说而要拐个弯暗示地说,有美化、粉饰、回避成分,以求减少听话者的反感或刺激以达到委婉的目的,因而令婉曲话语的表述同实际想要指称的事物在质或量上有所出入。那么应该如何为婉曲话语这方面的“非真”的合理性做出辩护,或者说如何从求真的视角来审视婉曲话语?对此我们的思路是:在哲学文献中梳理出比较合理的“真”之观点来认识婉曲话语是如何与“真”相关联的;同时分析婉曲话语的生成过程,看这个过程是如何从原用语同其婉曲话语的因果蕴涵关系中求其真的。
