More recently, Geco beneficiation plants have made a number of improvements to equipment and processes that have led to significant improvements in metal recovery rates. In the grinding circuit, the cyclone is used to improve the classification efficiency, so fine grinding can be carried out, so that the recovery rate is improved. In the past, copper was selected under alkaline conditions. In the practice of improvement, the crude copper concentrate was reground and then passed through sulfur dioxide to acidify the slurry to inhibit the incorporation of zinc. Due to the copper selection of the open-circuit operation, it reduces the copper roughing loop cycle load. The benefits of these improvements are the significant reduction in the amount of zinc lost to the copper concentrate, the grade of copper concentrate and the recovery of zinc.
