To be honest, I interpret it for respecting life deeply. Once, one of my students was late for class; he moved into my class in an awkward way, with a bee following him. All of a sudden, most of the students were excited seeing that little creature. They were frowning (皱眉), leaning, laughing or even trying to catch it. If you were me, what would you do? Would you shout at(斥责) the students to calm them down or just pay no attention to it?
Of course, I was annoyed by this innocent insect and felt a little bit embarrassed(尴尬). However, I didn’t scold my students who were attracted by the bee and even tried to catch the bee myself. I realized that it was also a living creature with freedom, and I should teach my students to respect it, so I allowed them to observe the flying bee. Then, I taught my students phrases such as “as busy as a bee”, “Queen bee” and “have a bee in one’s head” all related to it. Naturally, I won my students’ attention again and the bee just flew away timely. Thanks to this adorable(可爱的)bee, my students learned these extra phrases impressively(令人难忘地).
Sometimes I wonder if that day I hadn’t respected that little bee and scolded the absent-minded students, what bad results would have come out with? Maybe for a long time, as long as I am giving a lecture, they are thinking about the little bee and recalling the serious impression on my face. Fortunately, I dealt with the incident in a positive way. I understood that at such a young age, even seeing a bee was as interesting as watching a movie. I respected my students’ curiosity and made the bee a vivid teaching material. Hence, I am not a dictator regardless of my students’ genuine(真实的)feelings but a learning leader.
Life is precious. Where there is a life, there is a hope. Losing life means losing the right to learn and to live. With a small bee, a living creature, used appropriately(适当地), my class was brightened, and my students were even motivated and refreshed(恢复精神的). As a teacher, sometimes it is not the knowledge that really matters to your students but the attitude towards them. Accept them, understand them and respect them. Only in this way can we win our students’ trust and love, gain their respect and construct a more harmonious learning atmosphere(氛围). Let’s respect our students, do it now, do it every day, do it forever.
