竞技体育是以竞赛和提高运动成绩为主要目的的一种身体练习,它应有别于体育教育和娱乐体育。竞技体育关系着国家的荣誉和民族的兴旺,在一定程度上也显示了一个国家的现代化程度。目前不少国家借助电子工业的技术和先进装备来不断改进训练方法和训练手段,把体育科研的重点放在竞技体育上。实际上,生物力学的研究基本上部集中在如何提高运动成绩这个问题上。它研究的一个重要方面是:神经是如何控制肌肉而造成人体运动的,骨骼肌的功能如何;运动时身体资源是如何把化学能转换成机械能的,最后怎样表 Competitive sports is a kind of physical exercise with the main purpose of competitions and sports performance improvement.
