China’s aviation industry came into full swing during the economic difficulties in the early 1990s, and the reduction of defense funds led to a rapidly shrinking order of the entire aviation system. In order to maintain the necessary viability in difficult times, the aviation industry system, while devoting more efforts to developing civilian products, responded to its superior requirements and successively started to develop export-oriented models on existing models. Chengdu and Nanchang aircraft companies to adapt to market needs, relying on F-7 and Q-5 to open the export market. However, enterprises such as Shenyang and Xi’an, which produce large-scale military aircraft, have great difficulties in developing export models. The J-8ⅡM and FBC-1, which were started almost simultaneously, were not well developed and marketed in the market. The J-8ⅡM developed by Shenyang Aircraft Company was the first multi-purpose fighter in the export products of China Airlines and the first one that failed in the export products that started at that time. By exploring the role of various factors in the development of J-8IIM from the beginning to the end, we can summarize the valuable experience in the development and sales of China’s fighter export products
