爱尔兰食品与招待展
英国蒙哥马利展览集团将在今年秋天推出全新的爱尔兰食品与招待展。这个展会将融合蒙哥马利集团最近收购的SHOP食品展,于9月18-19日在皇家都柏林学院地区举办。
本次展会的合作伙伴之一是爱尔兰酒店协会。蒙哥马利集团爱尔兰服务区总经理Tim Graham先生说,“今年我们的目标是,将这个展览办得出色,展示当地最好的食品与招待服务,超过参展商和展会观众的期望。展会的亮点是互动讨论、演示,以及探讨食物、零售与招待行业的热点话题。” 在展会上,还将颁发年度最佳肉店奖与爱尔兰优质饮料与食品奖。展会自创办以来,吸引了爱尔兰各个行业的兴趣,今年人数有望爆满。(刘一凯)

Cebit会议结构更清晰

伦敦可食用菜蔬展搬至新馆

Fresh Montgomery launches Food and Hospitality Ireland show
The Irish arm of Fresh Montgomery is launching a new Food and Hospitality Ireland trade show this Autumn. The inaugural event will be incorporating the organiser’s recently acquired SHOP food show, held on 18-19 September at the Royal Dublin Society Arena.
“Our focus is on delivering an event that really exceeds both exhibitors’ and visitors’ expectations,” said general manager of Irish Services Montgomery, Tim Graham.” We have utilised all of the experience of Fresh Montgomery and married it with the best elements of SHOP to create the inaugural Food & Hospitality Ireland event.”
The Restaurants Association of Ireland is working with the organiser to develop its Chefs’ Table feature, showcasing the very best of local produce. The show will also feature the Spotlight Stage, featuring interactive discussions, presentations and cast a spotlight on the key topics in food, retail and hospitality. The show will feature two award ceremonies this year. The Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland will host their awards where hundreds of butchers descend on the Industries Hall to discover which butcher’s shop will take home the coveted ‘Shop of the Year’ title. The show is also in partnership with the first-ever Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards. “Since we launched the show, there’s been incredible interest from a wide section of companies and we’re hoping to have a full capacity event come September,” said Graham. Edible Garden Show moved to new place
The organiser of the Edible Garden Show is expecting more t h a n 2 0 , 0 0 0 visitors over the three-day event ahead of its move to Alexandra Palace in 2014.
The show hopes to boost its exhibitor numbers by a third taking the number to around 225 for the event, which moves to the iconic London venue in March 2014. Christine Walkden from BBC’s The One Show has also joined the lineup of celebrity speakers.
Latest official statistics from Defra show five per cent of all fresh fruit and vegetables consumed in UK homes came from free sources, mainly gardens and allotments. This compares to just under three per cent in 2008. The percentage of garden owners who grow their own fruit and vegetables has risen to 43 per cent, up from 34 per cent over the same period. The Edible Garden Show will be staged at Alexandra Palace, London, from 28 to 30 March. (Celion Su)

The events industry was invited to attend the second Exhibition News Silverstone Race Day on Friday 7 June and contribute to the panel discussion.
Tackling the thorny issue of accountability, the debate was entitled “When the wheels come off, who carries the can?”. This may include financial implications relating to health and safety, temporary structures, weather and public transport issues.
Exhibition and event professionals who have faced these issues could have their voices heard in person or by sending in their comments and questions via email or Twitter. EN managing editor Scott Birch hosted the discussion. Following the debate, attendees were given the chance to get behind the wheel on the famous F1 circuit. (Zhou Lu)
Clear positioning Cebit
With closer tie-ins between the Cebit exhibition and conference programmes, Deutsche Messe in Hanover is aiming to boost the show’s growth – as a strictly B2B trade fair. The recruitment and career starters segment is in line for significant expansion, while the extensive range of Cebit Global Conferences featuring well over 1,000 seminars, lectures and in-hall forums will be more clearly structured and easier to navigate. In the future the fair will be held from Monday to Friday, switching from the traditional Tuesday to Saturday run. This means that in 2014 Cebit will open on March 10 and welcome visitors through March 14. Some new services have also been introduced. For example visitors are able to use the WLAN network free of charge on the fairground and in the halls. All this comes at a price: the Cebit single-day admission ticket costs € 60. 泰国竞标举办2020年世界博览会遭拒
日前,由于缺少政府支持,目前泰国竞标举办2020年世界博览会的努力以失败告终。2010年,泰国民主党的竞标努力未得到首相的支持。首相称,由于举办世博会的成本巨大(约为十三亿至十六亿美元),因此需要慎重考虑回报率的问题,而这还不包括拟用来举办世博会的会展中心以及交通设施的预算。研究表明,如果泰国的三千七百万人口都来参观世博会,每人缴纳32美元的管理费,那么该展会可以收支平衡。泰国总人口为六千九百万,人均月收入为四百美元。(苏希玲)
英国伯明翰家禽展增加新场地
7月3-4日举办的英国伯明翰家禽展增加了一个新的展示区域,以帮助家禽饲养者们更好地展示。展会主办方英国皇家奶制品供应商协会将展示最新的农场安保系统,展会观众与安保专家以及警官可以在现场探讨乡村犯罪问题。

Reed Huaqun Combined with ShanghaiMart to Form New MegaExpo
On May 26, following a signing ceremony held at Beijing Earls Golf Club, Reed Huaqun Exhibitions Co., Ltd. and ShanghaiMart reached an agreement to develop the Shanghai International Gift & Home Trade Fair, formerly produced by ShanghaiMart, into the Shanghai International Houseware, Premium, Arts & Crafts Creative Design Exhibition, organized by Reed Huaqun. The newly combined mega-expo will take place at ShanghaiMart from August 28 to August 30, 2013.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nat Wong, President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, said, “This event marks the successful combination of the best elements of two big players: Reed Huaqun and ShanghaiMart. We’ve disassembled the competition model to create better business growth and a far bigger and more synergistic event. Additionally, we are proud to confirm that the China Gift Chamber of Commerce(CGCC), which sponsored the past ShanghaiMart organized Gift & Home Trade Fair, will stay on to support the new exhibition through invitations to its extensive exhibitor database, powering key promotional activities and helping with general event coordination.”(Celion Su)
Italian participation in Turkey
Thanks to its knowledge of waste treatment and sustainable development, Rimini Fiera Expo has once again organised a joint Italian participation in REW, the International Recycling, Environmental Technologies and Waste Management Trade Fair held June 13 to 16, 2013 at Istanbul’s Tuyap Fair and Congress Centre. In collaboration with Marchet (Ancona Chamber of Commerce’s special company for internationalisation) Rimini Fiera will set up the Italia hall, where Italian companies will exhibit their products. In return, more than 50 Turkish buyers will attend Ecomondo, the trade fair for material and energy recovery and sustainable development which takes place November 6 to 9, 2013 in Rimini, to see what exhibitors there have to offer. Rimini Fiera Business Unit manager Simone Castelli comments:"Turkey hopes to join the EU, so it needs to upgrade its approach to environmental sustainability and improve the organisation of its waste management system." The Livestock Event, running on 3-4 July, host a new Forage Field zone with practical demonstrations taking place, designed to help livestock farmers.
The organiser of the show, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF), staged a new safety security feature area showcasing the latest farm security systems and provided the opportunity for visitors to talk to experts and police officers about rural crime.
The RABDF moved the show from September to July this year, as the dates were seen as more convenient for livestock farmers and the supply trade. The 2012 show attracted 530 exhibitors and more than 16,000 visitors(unaudited). (Celion Su)
Thai bid for World Expo 2020 rejected
Bangkok’s bid to host the 2020 World Expo has been rejected by the organisers for failing to secure government support. The bid presented in 2010 by the Democratic Party government has reportedly received lukewarm interest from Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s Pheu Thai party. While denying that her administration had shelved the bid, the PM said in February that more time was needed to analyse the likely return on investment. The costs of organising the event are huge, estimated by the PM’s office at between Bt 40 billion (about USD 1.29 billion) and Bt 50 billion (around USD 1.6 billion). This does not even include the construction of infrastructure in Ayutthaya, the venue scheduled to host the Expo, and transport links to the World Heritage city. According to a study, the country would break even if 37 million people nationwide visited the international fair and each paid a Bt 1,000 admission fee(about USD 32). Thailand has a population of around 69.5 million people. The average monthly income is estimated at approximately Bt 14,000. (Celion Su)

国际展会海报大赛高手如云
最近,第十七届国际展会海报大赛评委宣布了本年度大赛的获奖名单。该比赛由全球展览业协会(UFI)与普罗夫迪夫国际展览会主办,旨在推广当代海报艺术,促进展览行业的发展。本届比赛中,一共有来自17个国家的24个展会主办方的64张展会宣传海报提交参赛。
大赛评委由展览行业人士与美术设计师组成,评审标准包括设计理念原创性、对展会主题的诠释、对营销信息与展会技术细节的成功诠释。
经过不记名评审,设计师B e r n a r d C a dèn e为于2013年4月6-15日在法国图卢兹展览会设计的宣传海报获得第一名。(苏希玲)
AIPC年会选举新的董事会

展会管理国际夏令营
2013年6月26-28日,由德国科隆大学展会管理学院组织的第五届“展会管理国际学校”(ISU)成功举办,主题为“将创新理念转化为成功的产品”。ISU提供了一个互动性的教育平台,为策略性实践信息提供了交换的平台。在过去四届中,共有来自35个国家的200多位展览行业人士参加ISU。
ISU持续时间为三天,每年都有不同的主题,并邀请包括学术研究者、从业者、业内顶级演说家在内的顶级人士来做演讲,课程形式包括专题讨论会、案例分析,确保讨论具有实效性。去年,ISU主题为“卓越的销售技巧”。共有来自美国、日本、泰国等14个国家的35位展会经理参加,探讨会展营销领域方面的机遇和挑战。展会参与者认为,新媒体对展览行业构成了挑战,并在展会上有很大的使用潜力,但它并不能取代展会。展会参与者评论道,“ISU是世界各地展览经理交流经验和高层讨论的完美载体。”“我们对会展行业都有自己的见解,ISU提供了交流行业知识和实践经验的绝好机会。”展会参与者的积极反馈,证明了所选话题的敏锐性。(苏希玲)
Uniplan Taiwan to manage Kaohsiung exhibition and convention centre
Cologne-based agency, Uniplan’s Taiwan subsidiary is in line to manage the new Kaohsiung exhibition and convention centre in the south of Taiwan starting in November. The company will be the first private centre manager in Taiwan. By the end of June, Uniplan Taiwan will establish a dedicated company for management of the new centre, with contracts with the Bureau of Foreign Trade(BOFT), a department of the Economics Ministry scheduled for signing at the beginning of July. Presently still under construction, the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre (KEC) is to be completed by the end of October and handed over in November to the Uniplan spin-off. (Celion Su)
International Fair Poster Competition 2013
The jury of the 17th International F a i r P o s t e r Competition has a n n o u n c e d t h e winners for the 2013 international graphic design c o m p e t i t i o n . O r g a n i z e d b y UFI, the Global A s s o c i a t i o n o f t h e E x h i b i t i o n I n d u s t r y , a n d International Fair Plovdiv (Bulgaria), t h i s u n i q u e forum recognizes c o n t e m p o r a r y poster art, which supports the international exhibition industry. A total of 64 posters from 24 fair and exhibition organizers in 17 countries were submitted. Each poster promoted a specific exhibition.
The international jury of exhibition industry professionals and graphic designers assessed the 64 posters based on the originality of the design concept, successful interpretation of the exhibition topic and clear presentation of the marketing message and exhibition’s technical details. The poster presented by Toulouse Expo – Toulouse, France and designed by Bernard Cadène, was unanimously chosen as this year’s Grand Award winner. (Celion Su)
International Summer University for Trade Fair Management
The International Summer University (ISU) provides an interactive educational platform for the exchange of strategic and operational knowledge from 26-28 June 2013. Nearly 200 exhibition professionals from 35 different countries participated in the ISU in the past four editions. The event this year ws themed on "From Innovative Ideas to Successful Products".
Last year, 35 trade fair managers from 14 countries(including Japan, Thailand and the USA) attended the International Summer University for Trade Fair Management in Cologne, where they discussed the challenges and opportunities facing sales and marketing departments in the trade fair sector.
In line with the event’s slogan, “Excellence in Sales –Selling Excellence”, the participants were treated to an indepth programme of presentations, discussions, workshops and case studies, while still having plenty of time for networking. The participants were thrilled with the event’s concept. The participants and speakers held lively discussions on a number of topics, focusing especially on the challenges and future prospects that the new media are bringing to the trade fair industry. AIPC Annual Conference in Cape Town Delivers Insights
AIPC’s 2013 Annual Conference (June 30-July 3) just concluded in Cape Town South Africa provided members with key industry insights along with a newly elected President and Board officials and the winners of the 2013 AIPC Innovation Award.

泰国竞标举办2020年世界博览会遭拒
日前,由于缺少政府支持,目前泰国竞标举办2020年世界博览会的努力以失败告终。2010年,泰国民主党的竞标努力未得到首相的支持。首相称,由于举办世博会的成本巨大(约为十三亿至十六亿美元),因此需要慎重考虑回报率的问题,而这还不包括拟用来举办世博会的会展中心以及交通设施的预算。研究表明,如果泰国的三千七百万人口都来参观世博会,每人缴纳32美元的管理费,那么该展会可以收支平衡。泰国总人口为六千九百万,人均月收入为四百美元。(苏希玲)
英国伯明翰家禽展增加新场地
7月3-4日举办的英国伯明翰家禽展增加了一个新的展示区域,以帮助家禽饲养者们更好地展示。展会主办方英国皇家奶制品供应商协会将展示最新的农场安保系统,展会观众与安保专家以及警官可以在现场探讨乡村犯罪问题。
主办方将展会举办时间从往年的九月移至今年的七月,是为了更方便地服务家禽供应商。粗略统计,去年的展会吸引了530名展商以及超过16,000观众。(苏希玲)
Reed Huaqun Combined with ShanghaiMart to Form New MegaExpo
On May 26, following a signing ceremony held at Beijing Earls Golf Club, Reed Huaqun Exhibitions Co., Ltd. and ShanghaiMart reached an agreement to develop the Shanghai International Gift & Home Trade Fair, formerly produced by ShanghaiMart, into the Shanghai International Houseware, Premium, Arts & Crafts Creative Design Exhibition, organized by Reed Huaqun. The newly combined mega-expo will take place at ShanghaiMart from August 28 to August 30, 2013.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nat Wong, President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, said, “This event marks the successful combination of the best elements of two big players: Reed Huaqun and ShanghaiMart. We’ve disassembled the competition model to create better business growth and a far bigger and more synergistic event. Italian participation in Turkey
Thanks to its knowledge of waste treatment and sustainable development, Rimini Fiera Expo has once again organised a joint Italian participation in REW, the International Recycling, Environmental Technologies and Waste Management Trade Fair held June 13 to 16, 2013 at Istanbul’s Tuyap Fair and Congress Centre. In collaboration with Marchet (Ancona Chamber of Commerce’s special company for internationalisation) Rimini Fiera will set up the Italia hall, where Italian companies will exhibit their products. In return, more than 50 Turkish buyers will attend Ecomondo, the trade fair for material and energy recovery and sustainable development which takes place November 6 to 9, 2013 in Rimini, to see what exhibitors there have to offer. Rimini Fiera Business Unit manager Simone Castelli comments:"Turkey hopes to join the EU, so it needs to upgrade its approach to environmental sustainability and improve the organisation of its waste management system." The Livestock Event, running on 3-4 July, host a new Forage Field zone with practical demonstrations taking place, designed to help livestock farmers.
The organiser of the show, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF), staged a new safety security feature area showcasing the latest farm security systems and provided the opportunity for visitors to talk to experts and police officers about rural crime.
The RABDF moved the show from September to July this year, as the dates were seen as more convenient for livestock farmers and the supply trade. The 2012 show attracted 530 exhibitors and more than 16,000 visitors(unaudited). (Celion Su)
Thai bid for World Expo 2020 rejected
Bangkok’s bid to host the 2020 World Expo has been rejected by the organisers for failing to secure government support. The bid presented in 2010 by the Democratic Party government has reportedly received lukewarm interest from Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s Pheu Thai party. While denying that her administration had shelved the bid, the PM said in February that more time was needed to analyse the likely return on investment. The costs of organising the event are huge, estimated by the PM’s office at between Bt 40 billion (about USD 1.29 billion) and Bt 50 billion (around USD 1.6 billion). This does not even include the construction of infrastructure in Ayutthaya, the venue scheduled to host the Expo, and transport links to the World Heritage city. According to a study, the country would break even if 37 million people nationwide visited the international fair and each paid a Bt 1,000 admission fee(about USD 32). Thailand has a population of around 69.5 million people. The average monthly income is estimated at approximately Bt 14,000. (Celion Su)
优尼博览(台湾)将管理高雄会展中心
总部位于德国科隆的优尼展览台湾分公司将于今年11月份开始管理台湾南部的高雄会展中心,成为台湾地区第一家管理会展中心的私营企业。在六月底,优尼展览公司已经成立了专门的管理团队,并将于七月份与台湾政府经济部外贸发展署签订合约。目前仍在施工的高雄会展中心预计于今年十月竣工,并在十一月份交付优尼展览公司管理。(苏希玲)
国际展会海报大赛高手如云
最近,第十七届国际展会海报大赛评委宣布了本年度大赛的获奖名单。该比赛由全球展览业协会(UFI)与普罗夫迪夫国际展览会主办,旨在推广当代海报艺术,促进展览行业的发展。本届比赛中,一共有来自17个国家的24个展会主办方的64张展会宣传海报提交参赛。
大赛评委由展览行业人士与美术设计师组成,评审标准包括设计理念原创性、对展会主题的诠释、对营销信息与展会技术细节的成功诠释。
经过不记名评审,设计师B e r n a r d C a dèn e为于2013年4月6-15日在法国图卢兹展览会设计的宣传海报获得第一名。(苏希玲)
AIPC年会选举新的董事会
国际会议中心协会AIPC年会于2013年6月30日至7月3日在南非开普敦举行。会上,代表们分享了会议产业的新观点,选举出了新的董事会主席和成员,并宣布了2013年AIPC创新大奖的得主。 新的董事会主席Donaghy先生表示,“在今天,全球会议行业,尤其是会议中心的经营方面,面临着前所未有的挑战,而这对那些有创新力量的场馆而言,意味着越来越多的机会。我非常感激能在这样的背景下,加入AIPC领导层。我深信我们现在有很大的机会,能够进一步将会议中心促进经济发展的作用彰显出来,达到政府的要求。在这个领域,AIPC将能够发挥真正的促进作用。同时,我们也将尽职尽责地以研究、项目与分享培训资源等方式来帮助我们的会员解决问题,提高管理绩效。”(苏希玲)
展会管理国际夏令营
2013年6月26-28日,由德国科隆大学展会管理学院组织的第五届“展会管理国际学校”(ISU)成功举办,主题为“将创新理念转化为成功的产品”。ISU提供了一个互动性的教育平台,为策略性实践信息提供了交换的平台。在过去四届中,共有来自35个国家的200多位展览行业人士参加ISU。
ISU持续时间为三天,每年都有不同的主题,并邀请包括学术研究者、从业者、业内顶级演说家在内的顶级人士来做演讲,课程形式包括专题讨论会、案例分析,确保讨论具有实效性。去年,ISU主题为“卓越的销售技巧”。共有来自美国、日本、泰国等14个国家的35位展会经理参加,探讨会展营销领域方面的机遇和挑战。展会参与者认为,新媒体对展览行业构成了挑战,并在展会上有很大的使用潜力,但它并不能取代展会。展会参与者评论道,“ISU是世界各地展览经理交流经验和高层讨论的完美载体。”“我们对会展行业都有自己的见解,ISU提供了交流行业知识和实践经验的绝好机会。”展会参与者的积极反馈,证明了所选话题的敏锐性。(苏希玲)
Uniplan Taiwan to manage Kaohsiung exhibition and convention centre
Cologne-based agency, Uniplan’s Taiwan subsidiary is in line to manage the new Kaohsiung exhibition and convention centre in the south of Taiwan starting in November. The company will be the first private centre manager in Taiwan. By the end of June, Uniplan Taiwan will establish a dedicated company for management of the new centre, with contracts with the Bureau of Foreign Trade(BOFT), a department of the Economics Ministry scheduled for signing at the beginning of July. Presently still under construction, the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre (KEC) is to be completed by the end of October and handed over in November to the Uniplan spin-off. (Celion Su)
International Fair Poster Competition 2013
The jury of the 17th International F a i r P o s t e r Competition has a n n o u n c e d t h e winners for the 2013 international graphic design c o m p e t i t i o n . O r g a n i z e d b y UFI, the Global A s s o c i a t i o n o f t h e E x h i b i t i o n I n d u s t r y , a n d International Fair Plovdiv (Bulgaria), t h i s u n i q u e forum recognizes c o n t e m p o r a r y poster art, which supports the international exhibition industry. A total of 64 posters from 24 fair and exhibition organizers in 17 countries were submitted. Each poster promoted a specific exhibition.
The international jury of exhibition industry professionals and graphic designers assessed the 64 posters based on the originality of the design concept, successful interpretation of the exhibition topic and clear presentation of the marketing message and exhibition’s technical details. The poster presented by Toulouse Expo – Toulouse, France and designed by Bernard Cadène, was unanimously chosen as this year’s Grand Award winner. (Celion Su)
International Summer University for Trade Fair Management
The International Summer University (ISU) provides an interactive educational platform for the exchange of strategic and operational knowledge from 26-28 June 2013. Nearly 200 exhibition professionals from 35 different countries participated in the ISU in the past four editions. The event this year ws themed on "From Innovative Ideas to Successful Products".
Last year, 35 trade fair managers from 14 countries(including Japan, Thailand and the USA) attended the International Summer University for Trade Fair Management in Cologne, where they discussed the challenges and opportunities facing sales and marketing departments in the trade fair sector.
In line with the event’s slogan, “Excellence in Sales –Selling Excellence”, the participants were treated to an indepth programme of presentations, discussions, workshops and case studies, while still having plenty of time for networking. The participants were thrilled with the event’s concept. The participants and speakers held lively discussions on a number of topics, focusing especially on the challenges and future prospects that the new media are bringing to the trade fair industry. AIPC Annual Conference in Cape Town Delivers Insights
AIPC’s 2013 Annual Conference (June 30-July 3) just concluded in Cape Town South Africa provided members with key industry insights along with a newly elected President and Board officials and the winners of the 2013 AIPC Innovation Award.
