泥河湾盆地的晚新生代地层因产出丰富的旧石器和哺乳动物化石而对早期人类演化和第四纪陆生哺乳动物演化研究具有特别重要的意义.本文对盆地东部的后沟旧石器遗址剖面进行了详细的岩石磁学和磁性地层学研究,结果显示,后沟剖面泥河湾层的特征剩磁载体以磁铁矿为主,还有赤铁矿.后沟剖面记录了Matuyama负极性时末期和Brunhes正极性时,后沟旧石器遗址的年龄为395ka.这一结果对认识东亚高纬度地区早期人类活动的年代学及其对环境的适应过程是很有意义的.
The Late Cenozoic strata in the Nihewan Basin are of particular importance for early human evolution and evolution of Quaternary terrestrial mammals due to the abundance of Paleoliths and mammalian fossils.In this paper, A detailed study of rock magnetism and magnetic stratigraphy was conducted and the results show that the characteristic residual magnetization carrier of Nihewan Formation in Hougou section is dominated by magnetite and hematite and the posterior ditch profile records the negative polarity of Matuyama End and Brunhes positive, the age of the Hougou Paleolithic site is 395ka.This result is of great significance for understanding the chronology of early human activities and its adaptation to the environment in the high latitudes of East Asia.
